"The stage"

The Forggen Lake

Location of the musical

Twilight appears with its impressive colors and is reflected on the surface of the Forggen Lake. The surrounding mountain peaks and cloud formations change color in innumerable combinations, from orange to violet. Soft music sounds from afar, which gradually becomes more and more present, until the musical ship, the MS "Fuessen", finally becomes visible and heads for the boat harbor in Fuessen.

The musical ship MS "Fuessen"

The musical begins with a breathtaking staged entrance of the MS "Fuessen". It is the world´s first musical adventure journey directly in front of Neuschwanstein Castle. When the last light of the day can be seen and the night slowly emerges in the so-called "blue hour", the most magical time begins. Experience nature´s impressive colors as they astonish anew. Here King Ludwig II dared to dream as a young prince and later built his fairytale castle.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle remains a symbol and source of inspiration and dreams, for both locals and tourists. As a young prince, Ludwig II. was fascinated by the legendary world of the Middle Ages and enthusiastic about the Holy Grail, which he later immortalized in paintings in Neuschwanstein Castle. On our musical adventure journey, these mystical figures are brought to life during the scenes on land.

The story

The king is desperately trying to escape his duty. Once a prince with the courage to dream, the king has forgotten his own dreams, and the prince he once was, is hidden deep inside him. He embarks upon a sea voyage and discovers a powerful secret in the magical lake below the castle of his childhood. Here the past and the future are united and interweave with the present. The king reminisces and hears his grandfather´s voice.

His grandfather had shared his greatest treasure with him when he was a boy: an ancient book called "The Swan Knights". When the king begins to read the book, the stories from the book reflect the king´s past and come to life, opening a window for him through which he can see his fate. Now, the king must recognize his dreams once again, re-discover the prince within himself and save the dreams of his people in order to rule his kingdom like never before.

The "Blue Hour"

The most magical time of the day

Your musical adventure journey begins at dusk, in the so-called "blue hour". It is the time when nature changes its balance of light and dark with the new colors that let our imagination blossom.
